Playing a small part

I’m distressed over what’s happening in the country, and like so many people, I’m searching for ways to do something about it. Big organizations are doing important work, but I’ve always been drawn to efforts that have a direct impact on people’s lives, without a lot of layers in between. I believe that even small efforts can matter, especially at the local level. This website is my way of trying to do just that: to identify local organizations that are making a real difference in people’s lives — and finding simple, meaningful ways to support them.  Even small actions, close to home, can add up to something bigger.
